Residential Swimming Pool Enclosure

This residential swimming-pool enclosure extends a high-end home’s outdoor amenity into a year-round, climate-tempered space. The enclosure spans the existing pool deck and includes operable wall sections that open the structure to the surrounding yard during warm weather.

Project Scope

Crystal Structures designed and fabricated the custom enclosure structure, including ridge glazing, wall glazing, and the operable sliding-wall system. Scope also covered the structural engineering for snow and wind loads and coordination with the homeowner’s general contractor on foundation and HVAC integration.

Materials & Engineering

Powder-coated aluminum framing with thermally broken extrusions. Insulated glazing units throughout, with laminated overhead glazing for safety. Operable wall panels on a top-hung sliding system with sealed perimeter weather-stripping. Engineered structural framing sized for the regional ground snow load.

Installation

On-site installation proceeded in approximately four weeks, sequenced to allow the homeowner to continue using the pool area until the final wall sections were set.

Location & Climate

Cold-climate selection: glazing was specified for net heating-season retention and resistance to interior condensation during winter pool operation when interior humidity rises.

Project Outcome

The enclosure converts the pool from a seasonal amenity to a year-round one and adds a daylit indoor-outdoor living space adjacent to the main house.
